Fire damages Cedar Falls school

CEDAR FALLS (KWWL)-- A ceiling being worked on at Peet Junior High School ignited Tuesday afternoon, causing the school's roof to catch fire.

Crews were called to the Cedar Falls school just before 5 p.m. Flames were shooting out of the roof when crews arrived, but it didn't take them long to put the fire out.

Officials say welders were working on the ceiling of the new media center when the fire started.

School was not in session. No one was injured.
