Car dealer stays out of jail for attempted arson

Posted:

ATLANTIC (KWWL) -- A Cass Co. judge will let a former car dealer remain out of prison as long as he follows the judge's orders and goes to treatment.  Jerry Wyman was convicted of conspiring to commit arson, insurance fraud and fraudulent practices.  Wyman tried to burn down a building he owned and collect insurance payments.  The judge sentenced Wyman, who used to run Wyman's Auto, to a suspended 12-year prison sentence as long as he goes to a residential rehabilitation center in Council Bluffs.  Until space opens up there, he'll remain in the Cass County Jail.
