GM issues recall on 2011 models

WASHINGTON, D.C. (KWWL) -- General Motors is issuing a recall of about 100,000 cars to fix seatbelts that could fail in an accident.

The recall involves 2011 model year versions of the Cadillac SRX, Chevrolet Equinox and GMC Terrain.

GM says the seat belt buckle anchor for the driver and front passenger seats could break apart in a crash.

They say they discovered the problem during testing in September.

Owners can contact Cadillac at (866) 982-2339, Chevrolet at (800) 630-2438 and GMC at (866) 996-9463. They can also consult the GM owner center website at

The recall is expected to begin in mid-January.
