Iowans dig out of the snow

WATERLOO (KWWL)-- Every where you looked in Waterloo people were tossing their shovels and revving up their snow blowers. Many Iowans say this morning's inches of snow isn't really that bad.

"I don't think it's that bad. It's only a couple inches. It's going to get worse so you better get used to it," said Matt Mahlstedt.

For some it was a chance to dust off their shovels and snow blowers.

"This is my second time getting the snow blower out. Its a little bit deeper this time, but it's so light that its not bad at all," Mahlstedt said.

Cameron Wahl doesn't have a snow blower. He shoveled his driveway, but he had a little motivation keeping him going. Wahl is a proud new father of a baby boy.

"I'm clearing a path so him and mom can come home without walking through the snow," said Wahl.

As soon as Wahl got done shoveling he planned to head back to the hospital to pick up mom and baby.

He admits he may need a snow blower in the future, but says he really doesn't mind the snow.

"I love snow. I would rather look at that then dead brown grass all winter. As long as we don't get too much at a time," Wahl said.
