Boy donates birthday presents to Toys for Tots

WATERLOO (KWWL) -- It's the season of giving and sometimes the best gifts aren't those that come wrapped. Monday one boy stopped by KWWL with more than 30 unwrapped gifts. It's something he says he's happy to give rather than receive.

There's nothing Taboo about it. "I thought it would be kind to give toys to kids that are less fortunate," Dallas Angove said.

Sorry, Monopoly, Jenga, and Legos, just to name a few.

"So so they can have a good Christmas like us," Angove said.

Angove and his friends, Emma Rowe, Molly McGlaugin and Mason Gausen, from St. Edmonds in Waterloo, are donating their toys to the Marine Corps Reserve's annual Toys for Tots.

"Almost all my classmates came, and I just thought it would be cool to have all my classmates involved in it," Angove said.

Angove did the same thing two years ago, when he realized that he could help make someone's Christmas. Monday night he and his friends dropped off 32 toys at the KWWL studios.

It's a small sacrifice, that he hopes will put presents under the tree, f or all those in need.

"If your really think about it we're fortunate kids being able to go the Catholic school and learn about our faith. And it would be nice for the kids that are less fortunate," Angove said.

By the way, the toys are Angove's birthday presents. He turns 13 on Tuesday.

"I'm kind of a fortunate kid so I don't need all those toys," he said.

You can still drop off your unwrapped gifts at the KWWL studios this week.
