Cedar Falls Police enforce 48 hour parking ordinance

CEDAR FALLS (KWWL) -- The Cedar Falls Police Department is set to enforce a 48 hour parking ordinance on Tuesday December 14th.

Beginning at 8:00 on Tuesday, police will start ticketing all vehicles in violation of the ordinance.

Owners of vehicles parked on city streets for more than 48 hours continuously need to be moved to private driveways or to city streets that have been plowed.

Cars not moved 24 hours after being ticketed will be towed at the owner's expense.

Police say the vehicles need to be moved so snow plows and salt trucks can remove the snow in public right-of-ways to help ensure safe travel through Cedar Falls.

The city will also begin issuing notices on Wednesday morning to residents who have not cleared the sidewalk next to their property.
