Waterloo business receives science grant

WASHINGTON, D.C. (KWWL)-- The Waterloo location of Interactive Flow Studies has received a $150,000 grant from the National Science Foundation. 

Interactive Flow Studies specializes in developing laboratory and educational products.  According to the National Science Foundation, the company will use the money to fund the project titled, "Small Business Innovation Research Phase I: Educational Interactive Hemodynamics Flow Visualization and Analysis."  The project involves the development of an affordable educational tools which can be used to study blood flow. 

Each year, thousands of local Iowa organizations, colleges and universities, individuals and state agencies apply for competitive grants and loans from the federal government.  The funding is then awarded based on each local organization or individual's ability to meet criteria set by the federal entity administering the funds.
