Janesville Meat Locker back open for business

JANESVILLE (KWWL) -- In September, the Janesville Meat Locker closed because it wasn't meeting sanitation standards.

It's since reopened and is ready to serve customers this holiday season.  The business replaced doors and freezers as well as equipment to get the 70-year-old facility up to USDA code.

The manager says the community has been supportive and it's been very busy since reopening.

"The community is coming back. People are supporting business. It's like anything else, we'll have to rebuild but now people know we're open. They are coming back. We do have a lot of support from the area. And it's good to be cutting meat," general manager Doug Chandler said.

The Janesville Locker is planning a grand reopening in January.
