UPDATE: Wreath returned to Iowa City sorority

IOWA CITY (KWWL) -- It seems the grinches that allegedly stole a wreath from a University of Iowa sorority had a change of heart.

Police reported that three men were caught on surveillance video taking a wreath, valued at $200, off the front door of the Pi Beta Phi Sorority at 818 E. Washington Street on Dec. 1 at about 10:53 p.m.

On Tuesday, Iowa City Police sent a press release to the media asking for the public's help in finding the thieves.

Sorority members called police on Thursday and reported that the wreath had been returned on Wednesday morning.

The sorority asked police not to investigate the theft any further.
