Do married men behave better than single men? Study says yes

Posted:

WATERLOO (KWWL ) -- A new study uncovers some answers as to why married men tend to behave better than their single peers.

Using data from male twins, researchers at Michigan State University found the difference appears to be two-fold.

First, men with lower levels of hostile behavior at age 17 and 20 were more likely to have married by age 29.

And it appears marriage itself lowered rates of aggressive or illegal behavior.

Researchers also found the effect of marriage on hostile behavior was stronger in good marriages.
