Waterloo man pleads guilty to selling methamphetamine

CEDAR RAPIDS (KWWL) -- A Waterloo man has pleaded guilty to selling large quantities of meth throughout the Waterloo area between November 2009 and June 2010.

57-year old James McClain was convicted in federal court Monday of conspiring to distribute more than 500 grams of meth during that period.

McClain admitted he bought meth from Arizona and sold it in Waterloo.

More than a pound of meth and a gun were seized from McLain's home in June of 2010.

McClain was convicted in 2001 for felony possession of meth with intent to deliver.

McClain faces a minimum sentence of 20 years in prison and a maximum sentence of life in prison plus an $8 million dollar fine.

He also faces a sentence of 10 years to life of supervised release after serving jail time.
