Charles City enjoys snow for annual Lighted Parade

CHARLES CITY (KWWL) -- It's a Charles City tradition.

"Everybody likes a parade. Everybody likes winter," said Garry Brown.

The annual lighted parade down Main Street wouldn't be the same without the white stuff.

"Oh I love it. This is winter. This is great," said Brown.

Families watched as floats, carolers, and lots of twinkling passed by, but the kids have just one thing on their mind. Their first opportunity to whisper in Santa's ear.

"What are you going to ask Santa?" we asked RJ Barker. "That I can be Santa! " he said.

"I want a teddy bear panda," said Isabelle Douglas. "Big deer!" Brown laughed.

Even waiting in line is a little easier with a few inches of snow on the ground. Douglas, for one, is having fun making angels. She even showed us how to do them ourselves.

Once all the kids got their Christmas wishes out of the way, we had a few questions for Santa. After all, no one knows how to drive in winter weather better than him.

Santa's suggestion -- "Get some deer. I fly. I don't drive."

Since most of us don't have Rudolph leading the way, we suggest you just take it slow.
