ISU student diagnosed with Meningitis

AMES (KWWL) -- An Iowa State University student has been diagnosed with Bacterial Meningitis.

The student is in stable condition.

School officials say Public Health is contacting those who had close contact with the student and a preventive antibiotic is being administered to them. They say the student's classmates are not at risk.

Meningitis can cause fevers, headaches, nausea and sleepiness.
