Family escapes train crash after car rollover

MONONA (KWWL) -- Two people are hurt in a single car crash that authorities say could have been much worse.

Clayton County Sheriff's Deputies say a car slid off a completely ice-covered Hickory Avenue, north of Froelich road, just before 6:00 a.m. Friday.

Deputies say the car rolled after sliding down a hill, landing on train tracks.

Two passengers in the car, 17-year old Jimmy Klusener and 10-year old Tommy Klusener were  hurt.

The driver, 45-year old Kevin Klusener tried to warn an oncoming train about the crash, but the train hit the car and pushed it down the tracks.

Everyone was safely out of the car before the train hit.
