Hawks discuss concussion issue

IOWA CITY (KWWL) -- The Iowa Hawkeyes will be without their leading rusher when they tangle with the Minnesota Gophers this Saturday.

Adam Robinson will miss the Gopher game after suffering what appears to be his second concussion in three weeks.

Robinson, who leads the Hawks with 941 yards on the ground, was injured on what looks like a helmet to helmet collision with Ohio State's Jermale Hines.

Although the Hawkeye fans booed lustily while Robinson lay motionless on the field, Iowa head coach Kirk Ferentz, said he didn't see anything malicious about the hit, saying it was a bang-bang play.

Ferentz believes Robinson should be fine and ready to go for the bowl game.

He says while player safety is always a priority, some injuries are unavoidable.
