Vikings fire Childress after falling to 3-7

EDEN PRAIRIE, MN (KWWL) -- The Minnesota Vikings fired head coach Brad Childress after losing 31-3 to Green Bay.

The team announced the decision Monday morning. Defensive coordinator Leslie Frazier will serve as interim head coach for the remainder of the season.

The Vikings have a record of 3-7 this year so far.  The loss to Green Bay Sunday was the final blow to Childress in his fifth season as head coach for the Vikings.  Childress leaves the team with an overall record of 40-37.

Vikings Owner/Chairman Zygi Wilf and Leslie Frazier will address the media at 3:00 p.m. CT today in the Winter Park fieldhouse.
