UPDATE: Iowa falls to Ohio State 20-17


IOWA CITY (KWWL) -- Ohio State scored with less than two minutes to go and held the Hawkeyes on 4th down to preserve a 20-17 win and keep their Big Ten title hopes alive.

The Iowa Hawkeyes struck first against Ohio State Buckeyes Saturday afternoon at Kinnick.

Ricky Stanzi connected with Marvin McNutt for the touchdown pass to put the Hawks up 7-0.

Ohio State punched in a field goal with 11:34 remaining in half to cut Iowa's lead to 7-3.

The Hawkeyes preserved the lead at the end of the half intercepting the Buckeyes in the endzone with about 1:00 left before halftime.

Ohio State took a 10-7 lead halfway through the 3rd. Iowa tied it on a 31 yard field goal late in the quarter.

Iowa took a 17-10 lead with 11:43 to go on a 1 yard touchdown run by Marcus Coker.

Ohio State cut it to 17-13 with a field goal with 7:38 to go and took the lead for good after a 1 yard touchdown run from Dan Herron.

With the win, Ohio State (10-1, 6-1 Big Ten) moves into a three-way tie for 1st in the Big Ten with Wisconsin and Michigan State.

Iowa falls to 7-4, 4-3 in the Big Ten.
