Driver loses control, semi ends up in creek bed

FAYETTE COUNTY (KWWL) -- The Fayette County Sheriff's Office says a semi ended up in a creek bed after the driver lost control.

The accident happened at around 11:48 Wednesday morning on 150th Street about a half mile east of S Avenue.

According to deputies, a semi driven by David Deike, 59, of Wellsburg, was eastbound on 150th Street when he lost control of the truck and trailer.  They say he crossed the center line and went into the ditch on the north side of the road.

They say the truck then went through a barbed wire fence, through a pasture and came to rest in a creek bed.

Deike was taken to People's Memorial hospital in Sumner to be treated for shoulder and arm injuries along with cuts, scrapes and bruises.

The sheriff's office says the semi and trailer are owned by Panama Transfer Inc.
