CEDAR RAPIDS (KWWL)- It was an opportunity Iowa City West was hoping to have again.

This time the Women of Troy capitalized.

West prevented an Ankeny three-peat, knocking off the Hawkettes in straight sets 28-26, 25-2, 25-16 in a rematch of last year's title game.

In doing so, the Women of Troy brought home their first volleyball state title in school history.

"It means everything.  Now we're in history," said Lexi Potter, who was named the all-tournament captain.  "I'm so glad I got to be a part of that."

The Women of Troy set the match tone in the first set, rallying from a 22-18 first set deficit to take the first game, 28-26. Iowa City West controlled the final two sets to complete the sweep.

Potter finished with 11 kills and four blocks.  Ally O'Dean for West led the way with 13 kills and 16 digs for the third-ranked Women of Troy.
