Cats spoil Hawks' Big Ten title hopes 21-17

EVANSTON (KWWL)- Northwestern has done it again.

The pesky Wildcats stole one from the Hawks in Evanston 21-17, presumably knocking the Hawks out of the Big Ten title race.

It's the fifth time the Cats have beaten the Hawks in the last six meetings.

The Hawks seemingly had their foot on Northwestern's throat, up 10 points in the fourth quarter and driving, but the Cats wiggled out.

Ricky Stanzi threw an interception, and the Wildcats strung together back-to-back long drives that resulted in touchdowns.

The Cats capped off the comeback with a 20 yard touchdown pass from Dan Persa to Demetrius Fields with 1:22 left to take a 21-17 lead.
