Ryan Donahue named semifinalist for Ray Guy Award

IOWA CITY (KWWL) -- Hawkeye senior punter Ryan Donahue has been named a semifinalist for the Ray Guy Award.

The award is given annually to the nation's top punter.  Donahue also made the semifinals for the award in 2008.

Donahue, a 6'3", 190-pound senior from Evergreen Park, Illinois, is averaging 45 yards on 36 punts this season.

He has four of the 13 longest punts in Hawkeye history, including a school second best 82-yarder as a freshman and has three other punts over 70 yards during his Iowa career.  He has been the starting punter the last four years.

Donahue was an honorable mention all Big Ten selection last year and as a freshman.  He was named national Punter of the Week following the Wisconsin game.
