School bus and ammonia applicator collide near Manchester

MANCHESTER (KWWL) -- One student was taken to the hospital after a West Delaware school bus and an anhydrous ammonia applicator collided near Manchester on Tuesday afternoon.

The Delaware County Sheriff's Office says the bus and applicator collided at around 3:42 pm on 180th Avenue, about a half-mile south of Manchester.

They say the applicator, which was being pulled by a pick-up truck, was northbound and was wider than one lane of the roadway, not leaving enough room for the southbound bus to pass safely.

One student on the bus was taken to a local hospital for minor injuries, while other students on the bus were treated on scene for minor injuries due to broken glass.

No tickets have been issued and the accident remains under investigation.
