West Branch rolls past Wapsie Valley

WEST BRANCH (KWWL) -- This was the first meeting in the playoff's between West Branch and Wapsie Valley with the Little Rose Bowl as Monday's setting.
 
The Bears would score first on 2nd and 7 when Travis Maher went 25 yards on the Warrior Defense.  However, the extra point was no good as West Branch led 6-0.
 
Wapsie Valley would answer on Connor O'Brien's rushing TD on 3rd and goal.  They would also miss the extra point and we were tied 6-6 at the half.
 
This game went back and forth, on 4th down, Brian Gauls for the Warriors nailed a 24 yard field to give Wapsie Valley a 9-6 3rd quarter lead.
 
The game blew open in the 4th quarter when Sid Thompson scored on back to back 1st and goal runs, and West Branch wins in a great game 27-9.

Preseason football, that is.  KWWL is airing all four Green Bay Packer preseason football games both its main channel and the CW.  This Sunday, August 19, the Packers head to Maryland to play the Redskins at 6:30 p.m. This will be on the CW, however only syndicated shows will be affected so there isn't anything re-airing. Next Saturday, August 26, the Packers head to Denver to play the Broncos at 8:00 p.m. on KWWL. The KWWL News at 10 will run on the CW....
