Dike-New Hartford redeems loss, takes down Falcons

PARKERSBURG (KWWL) -- There's no doubt that Dike-New Hartford's been praying for another shot at Aplington-Parkersburg ever since the Falcons rallied past them for a victory in the final minutes just about a month ago.

Monday night they'd get that shot in the class 1-A second round.

Already up seven to nothing in the second quarter, Dike-New Hartford quarter back Josh Rekers would rifle it to receiver Breen Greer. With the extra point the DNH would go up 14-0.

A few minutes later it would be Eric Joblinske trying to jump over the pile at the goal line. He would get the ball across the goal and the Wolverines would add seven more to their lead.

The Falcons would finally get on the board halfway through the second quarter. Jake Everts would find a hole and rumble into the end zone. A-P would miss the extra point, but put six on the board.

The Wolverines would add one more score before half. Rekers would loft the ball up to the corner of the end zone and find receiver Michael Weidemann. The score at halftime was Wolverines 28, Falcons six.

Dike-New Hartford would hold onto that lead in the second half, redeeming their loss to the Falcons. DNH wins 35 to 12.
