UNI beats Youngstown State 34-30

YOUNGSTOWN, OHIO (KWWL) – Quarterback Tirrell Rennie scored on a 19-yard touchdown run to put Northern Iowa up 34-30 over Youngstown State with 2:00 remaining in the game.

The Panthers would hang on to win Saturday afternoon.

Rennie had a career-high 194 yards on the ground and two touchdowns.  Rennie also finished 8-of-16 for 152 yards passing.

Northern Iowa had to battle back Saturday afternoon.

Youngstown State began the second quarter with a bang and a 73-yard touchdown pass to make it 14-3.

Quarterback Tirrell Rennie connected with tight end Schuylar Oordt on 39-yard touchdown pass with 9:42 remaining in the second quarter to trim Youngstown State's lead to 14-10.

Youngstown State (3-6, 1-6 MVFC) added a field goal late to take a 17-10 lead over UNI (5-3, 4-1 MVFC) into halftime.

The Panthers put together 434 total offensive yards.
