Little Hawks cap off perfect season by downing Prairie

CEDAR RAPIDS (KWWL) -- The Little Hawks came into the game going for their third straight undefeated season and 23rd straight win this season, while Prairie was looking to keep their playoff hopes alive and send retiring coach Craig Jelinek out with a win.

On their first possession, City High's Andrew McNulty hits Thomas Zoeckler for the 21-yard touchdown.  Little Hawks lead 7-0.

Little Hawks stop the Prairie Hawks and get the ball right back and McNulty pitches the ball to Bobby Millard who finds the end zone after 21-yards to make it 14-0.

Still in the first quarter and the Little Hawks keep their foot on the gas. This time McNulty hands the ball to Cedric Readus who rumbles 70-yards for the score to put City High up 21-0 after one quarter.

The Little Hawks would lead 34-0 at half and go on for the 41-14 win.

Prairie's season comes to end and the job now is to find Jelinek's replacement.

City High moves on to the post-season and will host Davenport Central on Wednesday.
