MANCHESTER (KWWL) -- The West Delaware Hawks could claim at least a share of the district crown with a win. While Oelwein was looking to solidify a postseason berth.
With a little smoke and music the West Delaware Hawks hit their home field in full strike on senior night.
But it was the Oelwein Huskies feel'n it first through the air on the opening drive completing four of five passes reaching the hawks 39-yard line before having to punt it away.
The hawks would finally get something going on their 3rd possession of the game. Third and four, Jordan Hoffman connects with Brandon Domeyer. He gets his bell rung but hangs on for a big pick up. Two plays later Hoffman goes deep and finds number 1 Tyler Morrison for a 45 yard reception, breaking tackles and he finds the zone. The hawks go on top with 31-seconds left in the first quarter 7 - zip.
The huskies hit right back going deep to number 8 and connecting for a 40-yard pick up. Then a few plays later Nicholas Rouska punches it on of the left side tying the score 7-all.
Final: West Delaware 48, Oelwein 21.
