CEDAR RAPIDS (KWWL) -- Police say they have found a relative of a woman who died after being assaulted in her apartment last month.

Cedar Rapids Police say a step-son of Doris Bevins came forward Wednesday after hearing they were looking for family members.  The Linn County Attorney, Survivors of homicide and police had been working together to find relatives.

68-year-old Doris Bevins was strangled Sept. 19th.  She died the next day.

Her neighbor, Jerome Power, is charged with first-degree murder. He's being held in the Linn County Jail.

Bevins' body had been held at the state medical examiner's office in Ankeny.
