Council considers credit reporting for unpaid traffic fines

Posted:

CEDAR RAPIDS (KWWL) -- Driver's who don't pay their traffic fines could get a black mark on their credit rating.

A committee recommended the plan to the Cedar Rapids City Council Tuesday.

The plan would impact those drivers caught speeding or running red lights on traffic cameras in Cedar Rapids.

One city leader says the city is willing to send unpaid bills to collection agencies but has stopped short of allowing agencies to report to a person's credit.
