C.R. Iowa Workforce open house set

CEDAR RAPIDS (KWWL)– The Integrated workforce center, IowaWORKS is opening a new office in Cedar Rapids.  An open house and ribbon cutting ceremony is set for Thursday, October 21st at 8:30 a.m.  The new facility is located in the lower level of Lindale Mall at 4444 First Avenue NE, Suite 436.

"We're excited to host an open house in the new facility," said Iowa Workforce Development Director Elisabeth Buck.  "Workforce related services are in critical need during this time and the newly Integrated Cedar Rapids location is poised to provide unique services to the community."

There will be a short program at 8:45 AM and a Chamber of Commerce ribbon cutting ceremony at 9:00 AM.  Staff will provided guided tours of the new facility following the ribbon cutting.

The Cedar Rapids location will be open Monday through Friday from 8:30 a.m. to 4:15 p.m.

IowaWORKS provides resources for all Iowans regarding their employment needs.  You can visit any of the 55 field offices across the state for personalized job search assistance; attend Iowa Advantage classes for increasing job search skills and interviewing techniques; and utilize the Resource Center to develop your résumé and search for jobs. The state jobs database is available at IowaJobs.org.  The user-friendly system allows job seekers to search by keyword, location and more.
