Hiawatha man admits to pawning shotgun

CEDAR RAPIDS (KWWL) -- A Hiawatha man faces up to 10 years in prison for being a felon and having a gun.

Rusty Lynn Bowles, 43, admitted in court that he possessed a 12 gauge shotgun for a year prior to August 21, 2009, when he pawned it at a Cedar Rapids pawn shop.

Bowles had convictions for Felony Assault with Intent to Commit Sexual Abuse, Felony Assault While Displaying a Dangerous Weapon, Second Degree Forgery, Second Degree Burglary and Misdemeanor Domestic Assault at the time.

Bowles faces up to 10 years in prison, a $250,000 fine, a $100 special assessment, and 3 years of supervised release.

A sentencing date has not been set.
