Wrestlemania Reading Challenge underway

CEDAR RAPIDS (KWWL)-- The "Wrestlemania Reading Challenge" kicked off Saturday in Cedar Rapids.  Students in grades 5-12 will work to design creative bookmarks that tie in with a wrestling theme.  The Cedar Rapids Public Library will award prizes for the best bookmarks.  And winners will move on to a regional contest for a shot at the grand prize:  a trip to the WWE's Wrestlemania event next spring in Atlanta, Georgia.  The contest aims to get more kids interested in reading.

"The program is really targeted toward reluctant readers-- so those kids who maybe don't read tons and tons, but like to read a little bit.  This is a great way to get them interested in reading.  The prizes are all Wrestlemania themed.  So if you like that, you can sign up for the program at get a few prizes," said Sarah Slack with the Cedar Rapids Public Library.

Entry forms for the "Wrestlemania Challenge" are available at the Cedar Rapids Public Library and on its website.  Entries are due by October 25.
