Falcons roll past the Cougars 52 to 7

PARKERSBURG (KWWL) -- Fourth ranked Aplington-Parkersburg enters Friday night with seven wins and zero losses for the season and the Falcons could clinch a share of the 1-A District 3 Championship with a win over AGWSR.

The Falcons would find success with their running game. In the first quarter running back Jason Grill would take the hand off and rumble more than 20 yards to the end zone. The Falcons would miss the extra point, but go up seven to nothing.

A few minutes later A-P would find the end zone again. This time Dylan Bellows would take it to the house from just a few yards out. They would be denied during the two point conversion 12 to nothing.

AGWSR would not go down without a fight. Pete Woodman would wait for the draw and then takes off like a rocket. He would go 32 yards and find the end zone. The Cougars would hit the extra point and close the gap seven to 12.

The Falcons would find their stride in the second quarter by scoring three unanswered touchdowns. A-P would go into halftime with a 35 to seven lead.

The Falcons would play four complete quarters and roll past the Cougars 52 to seven.
