Foreclosure help for Iowans

DES MOINES (KWWL)-- Iowa is set to receive $17.3 million in federal money to help homeowners facing foreclosure.

The money comes from the Emergency Homeowners Loan Program. It is designed to help those who have had a large change in their income due to job loss or a medical condition.

The program offers loans of up to $50,000 to help with past due mortgage payments property taxes, and insurance. It will also provide up to two years of mortgage payments. The loans are interest-free, and offer deferred payments.
