Pechous leads Regals to a 42-0 win

IOWA CITY (KWWL) -- The best return man in the state may reside in Iowa City.

Zach Pechous reached the end zone three times on three explosive plays, and the Regals dominated one-loss Camanche 42-0.

The Regals did their damage in all three phases of the game.

Iowa City West transfer Berkley Grimm picked off Riley Linder and took it back 49 yards to put Regina on top 7-0 in the first quarter.

It was special teams and a spectacular return from Pechous that gave the Regals their second score.  Pechous fielded a punt off of one bounce and made several cuts before taking it back 70 yards and giving his team a 14-0 lead.

Pechous was just getting warmed up.

In the second quarter the senior took a swing pass from quarterback Jack Verducci and again got in the open field for another 70 yard score.

Pechous opened the second half with an 87 yard return for a touchdown.

The Regals remained unbeaten on the year.
