Peosta plant expanding and hiring new workers


EVANSVILLE, INDIANA (KWWL) -- Berry Plastics Corporation of Evansville, Indiana has announced that they are expanding their plant in Peosta and creating more than 12 new jobs.

The Peosta plant makes injection blow molded, extrusion blow molded and stretch blow molded bottles for the healthcare, food and personal care markets.

Berry Plastics will invest in new bottle manufacturing equipment creating the new jobs and Captive Realty Company of Iowa will invest in the building expansion.  The total project cost is expected to be about $8.8 million and will begin immediately.  The target date for completion is the second quarter of 2011.

"We're excited to continue our 23 year history of growth in Peosta where we have enjoyed a terrific relationship with our community, government, and employees," David Kincade, Peosta Plant Manager, said in a written statement.

Berry Plastics has over 78 manufacturing facilities worldwide with more than 16,000 employees.
