Joe Paterno talks about struggles against the Hawkeyes

STATE COLLEGE, PA(KWWL)-- Penn State head coach Joe Paterno has won more games than any coach in the history of major college football.

But the octogenarian has come up way short in his head to head meetings against Kirk Ferentz and the Iowa Hawkeyes.

On Saturday, Joe Pa and Penn State beat Temple for the 28th straight time.

But Paterno has only taken two out of nine meetings against the Hawks coached by Kirk Ferentz.

At his weekly press conference,  Joe Pa felt there were several reasons why Iowa has had success against him in recent years.

Paterno believes the Hawkeyes are well coached and have a veteran staff that also does an excellent job of recruiting. Joe Pa says Iowa plays sound and makes few mistakes and he thinks Ferentz, who is a Pennsylvania native, may have a little extra incentive to beat him.
