Iowa City woman charged with using found credit card

IOWA CITY (KWWL) -- An Iowa City woman is charged with using a found credit card to buy hundreds of dollars worth of merchandise.

Iowa City Police say 23-year-old Jessica Sims faces 13 counts of unauthorized use of a credit card and seven counts of forgery.  Police say Sims admitted to finding the credit card July 28th and went on to buy $690.85 worth of merchandise before being denied at Hy-Vee, Kum & Go and RedBox.  Police also say Sims admitted under Miranda that she forged the signature for several of the purchases.

Police say the purchases were made at Towncrest Pharmacy, Suburban Amoco, La'James, Video Games ETC, Radio Shack and Hy-Vee Gas, and included pop and candy, hair products, a gift card, video games, a cell phone, and newspapers.
