PARKERSBURG (KWWL) -- Aplington-Parkersburg has been steady and consistent under new head coach Alex Pollock. The fourth ranked Falcons are unbeaten and winning their games by an average of 34 to 6.
West Fork suffered their first loss of the season to Dike-New Hartford and hoped to catch the Falcons peeking ahead to next week's showdown with the Wolverines.
It was homecoming in the land of the Falcons and it would prove to be another distraction to overcome and the Warhawks would take advantage.
After an A-P fumble, quarterback Seth Tuttle would hook up with Jace Winfrey in stride and just like that West Fork was up seven to nothing.
The Falcons would answer right back. A-P would go to the air as Austin Ryan hit Chase Wildeboer for a fifty yard score. The game would be tied seven all.
The Warhawks would try some trickery as the center snaps to half-back Tyler Greimann who would go 70 plus yards to the house.
The Falcons would find their stride in the second quarter. Quarterback Austin Ryan would go around the end and dive for the end zone, tying the game at 14.
A few minutes later Jason Grill would follow his blockers into the end zone and put the Falcons up 21 to 14.
Then Curry Hoff walks into the house, barely touched from three yards out, 28-14 Falcons.
Just minutes later Curry Hoff again finds the end zone again dragging a Warhawk.
West Fork would get a quick score before half but A-P would go to the locker room up 35 to 20.
Aplington-Parkersburg would make quick work of the Warhawks in the second half as A-P rolls past West Fork 61 to 20.
Next week will be the real challenge for A-P as they match up with the Wolverines in Dike, a sure Game of the Week contender.
