In vitro effect on standardized testing

IOWA CITY (KWWL) -- There's a new study out at the University of Iowa looking at how in vitro fertilization affects academic testing.

Researchers compared test scores of hundreds of Iowa kids age 8 to 17.  Some were conceived naturally, others through in vitro.

The study found kids conceived in vitro performed above average on standardized tests compared to their peers.  Experts say a number of factors contributed to this, including older age of the mother, higher education of both parents, and lower levels of divorce.
