Majority of breast cancer survivors report sexual problems

Posted:

AUSTRLIA (KWWL) -- Breast cancer survivors face a number of challenges after their treatment.

But now researches say a majority of those women experience sexual problems after treatment.

Australian researchers studied the sexual well-being of 1,700 breast cancer survivors, two years after being diagnosed

Among those under 70-years-old who had a partner, 70 percent said they had sexual function problems.

Many blamed body image concerns for their problems, but certain hormone therapies used to treat breast cancer often cause night sweats and hot flashes, which also contribute to sexual problems.
