High heels study: are they worth the pain?

Posted:

NEWCASTLE, ENGLAND (KWWL) -- A study by scientists at a British university may have answered the question, "Are the pain and expense of high heels worth it?"

According to a new study, if women are wearing high-heels because they believe men find them more attractive, they shouldn't bother.

Experts at Northumbria University studied the men's reaction to women walking with and without high heels.  They were trying to learn if the change in body posture brought about by wearing heels- like the illusion of longer legs and emphasized body parts - sends a signal that makes an impact on men.

But the experts say they've found men can't even tell if a woman is wearing high heels when they see her walking.  So if you're wearing heels just to try to draw a guy's eye, you can probably go to more comfortable footwear.
