DUBUQUE (KWWL) -- Maquoketa Valley came week 4 with a record already better than what they finished with last year (2-7). But they has one thing going against them their starting quarterback, Cody Schindler, injured this week in homecoming activities. So they had to rely on sophomore Jobe Ellison and their defense to defend former 1A District Champs and 3-0 Turkey Valley.
The Wildcats enter the field 3-0 but thing starting out rough. On 4th down, the Trojans with the blocked kick that's recovered by Wildcat's Kyle Whitman at the ten yard line. But it's Turkey Valley ball. That set up this quarterback keeper from Brady Kuennen. Its 6-0 after the missed 2 point attempt.
Then in the second quarter, Trojans up 14-0, Kuennen takes a 40 yard shot at Jordan Mitchell. That makes it 22-0 Trojans at half.
Turkey Valley wins it 28-0.
