Monkey Jockeys big hit at National Cattle Congress Fair

WATERLOO (KWWL)-- "I have the greatest job on Earth. Everywhere I go people smile," said Philip Hedericks, Banana Derby.

Banana Derby is joining the National Cattle Congress Fair this year.  Hendericks started this three years ago and it's been a hit ever since.

"We looked out the window and he's riding the dog, hanging on by the ears. I started encouraging it and then we built a harness for them and the neighbors saw it and said you should take this on the road.  We have been traveling coast to coast, boarder to boarder the last three years just having a blast."

Hedericks was actually a lawyer before he started this career.  He has been getting great reviews ever since.

"There is a certain attraction with the monkey. I mean monkeys are the closest relative, the dog is the mans best friend. Everybody loves the dog, everybody is interested in the monkey. You put them together and its like gas and water."
