Marion man charged with lascivious acts with children

MARION (KWWL) -- A former bus driver from Marion is facing several charges after police say he had inappropriate contact with two 11-year olds.

Arlo Delmar Pelley Jr, 58, was arrested on Sept. 10 after an investigation.

Police say he's charged with Indecent Contact with a Child, Lascivious Acts with a Child, and Assault with Intent to Commit Sexual Abuse.

Police say both victims were 11-years old and one was a family member and the other was a friend of the family member.

The Linn-Mar School District says that Pelley voluntarily left his employment as a bus driver for the district on Sept. 3.

Katie Mulholland, Linn-Mar Superintendent, says the district has no reason to believe that Pelley had any indecent contact with any of the students he came in contact with as a part of his job.

Marion Police say neither victim was involved with Pelley's employment as a bus driver.

Mulholland adds that the district made phone calls to parents to let them know that Pelley was no longer with district as a courtesy to those parents.
