Jobless Claims Fall

WASHINGTON (KWWL)-- The number of newly laid-off workers filing for unemployment benefits dropped last week to its lowest level in two months.

The Labor Department says new claims for jobless benefits fell by 3,000, the third decline in four weeks. Many experts were expecting an increase instead.

Claims have fallen by 11 percent in the past month. Experts say the numbers mean employers are laying off fewer workers.
