Legendary Iowa broadcaster Jack Shelley dies

AMES (KWWL) -- A longtime Iowa broadcaster passed away. Jack Shelley died late Tuesday in Ames.

His career took him from the airwaves, to the classroom at Iowa State University, where he inspired hundreds, if not thousands of broadcast journalists.

Legendary Iowa broadcaster and educator Jack Shelley was a fixture on WHO radio and TV for 30 years.

He reported on war from both Europe and the Pacific and was the first to interview the Enola Gay after the Atomic bomb drop.
