Waterloo teen sentenced in gun theft

CEDAR RAPIDS (KWWL)--  A Waterloo teen will spend more than 8 years in prison, for stealing guns from a family members' home.

19-year-old Irwin Wade was sentenced Wednesday in U.S. District Court in Cedar Rapids. He pleaded guilty in May to stealing 26 guns from a Waterloo home in December 2009.  He, and Corey Carter were accused of stealing the guns from Wade's aunt and uncle, breaking into their home, burglarizing it, and taking guns, a television, computer, and a ring. Police recovered five of the guns in Waterloo during various crimes, and five were located in Chicago. 13 are still unaccounted for.  In August, Carter, pleaded guilty to several charges. He is awaiting sentencing.
