What movie will the Hawks watch?

IOWA CITY (KWWL) -- A night game on Saturday means the usual Friday team meeting will actually move to Saturday morning, making way for a team outing the night before.

Iowa Head Coach Kirk Ferentz is wary of Saturday night's 9:35 p.m. start time against the Arizona Wildcats, but says it will probably affect him more than his players.

"College kids tend to thrive at that, at 9:00, whereas the older people, like me , we're probably going to be at our worst, but that's just how it goes," Ferentz said. "The guys go to a movie. That's what we do on night games, typically the night before."

And the movie choice has been a topic of discussion.

"A lot of people just keep asking you what the movie's going to be, and they're sending you texts about it," Ricky Stanzi said. "I got a text from Vandenberg 3 days ago...I didn't even think about it, and I'm like 'What's he talking about? Oh yeah, we've got a movie this week.'"

The movie choice is usually determined by the seniors.

"The guy to talk to, is [Jeff] Tarpinian. And he thinks The Town is a good choice this year...it's either that or Eat, Pray, Love with Julia Roberts," Stanzi said.

While Stanzi says picking the movie is an advantage, there's also a lot of pressure that goes along with it as he's still irritated about the fact that he was forced to go see G.I. Joe, which he called "the worst movie ever."
