Cyclones move on after loss

AMES (KWWL) -- The Iowa State football team has one goal this Saturday, and that's to not suffer another loss due to a hangover from a brutal game against the Hawks.

Iowa State heads to Arrowhead Stadium in Kansas City to take on Kansas State.  The Wildcats beat the Cyclones a year ago after blocking a potential game tying extra point in the game's final seconds.

ISU head coach Paul Rhoads says now he hopes his team can be focused on competing against KSU while putting the loss to the Hawkeyes in the rear view mirror.

"We don't want the Iowa loss to create a second loss for us," says Rhoads, "If we get beat, we get beat, but we want to get beat playing well and executing and playing our brand of football."

Quarterback Austen Arnaud doesn't think it will be an issue.  "It's the same exact spot we were in last year," says Arnaud, "We feel confident that we can turn things around after a loss like this, and get off on the right foot after a great week of preparation to play a great K-State team on Saturday."

Game time between the Cyclones and Wildcats is set for 11:00 AM on Saturday.
